I love the new attitude that Rex Ryan brings to our NY Jets. This week while appearing on the Mike Francesa show on WFAN Rex expressed his feelings about Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots. When asked if he had respect for Billy B's reputation and championships he replied "I didn't take this job to kiss Belichicks rings!" And when asked how he felt about playing them in the same division he said "week two of the NFL season we will show them exactly how we feel".
Finally someone who isn't afraid to step up and let the AFC East know that this is going to be our divisions again. Rex has the natural ability to rally the troops and motivate anyone. I already broke down the schedule and predicted an 8-8 record at best. Thats not good enough to make the post season. That being said I am not afraid to hope for the best and jump on the Ryan bandwagon. If he can make these guys believe maybe they can accomplish something special.
One other thing that Rex pointed out was Woody Johnson's dedication to winning. The new stadium and practice facility are state of the art and the best money can buy. He has done everything he can do as an owner to prove he wants the Jets to win championships. I have been very critical of Johnson for breaking his promise to the fans that we would have our own stadium. It's not his fault that the west side stadium was not approved by NYC, but I do blame him for not having another location set up as a back up. Now we are stuck with the Giants in the Meadowlands.
