Week 12: Jets vs. Bengals... ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

Thank God for Brad Smith!

I must be honest, I didn't watch this whole game. The Jets looked impotent in the 1st half and the ridiculous unnecessary roughness call on Drew Coleman that set up the Bengals only TD was the last straw for me. Winning is all that matters at the end of the day, and I have been preaching that for weeks. That being said, the Bengals are one of the most mismanaged franchises in al of sports and they are having an especially poor season in 2010. If the Jets wanted to be taken seriously they needed to destroy this team.

The defense and special teams played well, but the offense was horrible. After 11 games Greene still looks like he just isn't capable of stepping up to this once in a lifetime opportunity. I have a hard time believing this team has enough discipline to make a real playoff run. They are confident, talented and hungry. They are also one of the sloppiest teams in the NFL.

I am also disgusted by how players like Scott run their mouths after games. Multiple Jets defenders told the press that they considered the Thanksgiving Night game to be 'Easy". Why degrade your opponents and drag the whole franchise down? We traded away a high character guy like Vilma only to bring in an underachieving loudmouth like #57.

But, most of all I am disgusted by the officiating in the NFL and how there always seems to be a ridiculous call at a key moment that puts the Jets in an impossible situation. The aforementioned call against Coleman for unnecessary roughness was the straw that broke the camels back. Coleman did absolutely nothing wrong on that play... he didn't lead with his helmet.. didn't launch himself... he didn't even knock the receiver off his feet. He simply touched him with his shoulder.

That was a 3rd down play and gave the Bengals a 1st and goal on the 5 yard line instead of forcing a field goal attempt. The zebras are controlling the outcomes of games with these ridiculous calls. The NFL is truly becoming unwatchable. That call has seriously diminished my interest in this game.

One final note. After yet another inexcusable missed field goal and an extra point that bounced in off the upright the Jets have publicly started to work out kickers. I can say this much... If we make the playoffs we are not going to be a dominating team. This team plays down to it's competition. We will most certainly require at least one game winning field goal in the post season to stay alive and Folk is not capable of that. He is emotionally ill-equipped to handle the pressure of kicking at this level. Case closed.
